USO on Electronic Communication Services - Decision April '10 (Updated September 2011)
Following a comprehensive analysis of the current universal service regime, and the outcome derived from a consultation published in May 2009, this decision re-establishes the individual universal service obligations and their respective designations
Following a further consultation this decision has been updated to reflect an extension on the maximum timeframe allowed to request for USO funding from six months to nine months following the financial year.
These services, which are treated in more detail throughout the document, include the provision of access at a fixed location; directory and directory enquiry services including the printed directory; public payphones; measures for disabled users; provision of reduced tariffs; and ensuring that users have the means to control expenditure.
