About MCA

The Malta Communications Authority was set up to regulate communications services, which include, fixed and mobile telephony, Internet and TV distribution services. It also regulates the postal sector and eCommerce services and Malta’s radio spectrum resources. In year 2014, the Authority’s mandate has been further extended to include responsibility for developing Malta’s ICT potential through innovation.  We also implement initiatives aimed at ensuring that every business and individual has the competences to beneficially use ICT and engage in online activities. On the consumer front, we implement programmes to ensure that consumers are well informed about their rights and about the various offers available to them.

Furthermore a dedicated internal committee has recently been established with the task of locating funding opportunities, through which participatipation, the Authority better meets its strategic objectives.
